Safe Space For Children and Teens Needs Your Help
A safe space for at risk children and has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic.
Sarah Reed Children's Center is a non-profit in Erie County that helps children and teens who struggle with success. The Associate Vice President of Development of Sarah Reed Children's Center said it has been challenging for staff and students.
“This has been no doubt the most challenging period we have ever experienced. We get children from all over the state of Pennsylvania. So when you have children coming in from all over you got to have extra special care because there's a lot of possibilities of bringing in the virus," said Associate Vice President of Development, Gary Buckowski.
In hopes to lower these possibilities the center needs laptops equipped with appropriate learning programs so everyone can maintain social distance. The good news, Tuesday is Erie Gives Day where the Erie Community Foundation is taking donations to help the children's center with this goal.
"We appreciate each other, we rally together. Erie Gives is sort of the culminating event of all that it demonstrates what we can do if we work together," said President of Erie Community Foundation, Mike Batchelor.
If you want to donate to Sarah Reed Children's Center through the Erie Community Foundation you have until 8 p.m. Call (814) 454-0843 to donate.
You can also donate to Sarah Reed Children's Center directly anytime.
